camel club - uppsala 1994

Date : 15 July 1994

Venue : Camel Club, Uppsala, Sweden

Quality : B

Recording : Audience

Notes:

Now this is something special.

Dan Reed Network never officially split up, but they played their final gig together at The Garage, London, UK in 1993

However, in the summer of 1994, Dan Reed toured Sweden with a pick-up band (Johhny And The Yobs) billed as DAN REED AND THE NETWORK. Also providing back-up vocals and singing lead on a couple of songs was Linda Hornbuckle - she had worked with Dan Reed on Live Or Die

The setlist consisted of several DRN songs, and a few new songs - 'Pray For The Rain' (a mid-paced rock number), 'You've Got The Love' (sung by Linda), 'Torture Sweet' (a mellow soothing number) and another song sung by Linda

The band do not even come close to the professionalism of the real Network. However, this is a fantastic curio to have and Dan Reed looks and sounds like he is having a lot of fun

There is a video of this concert (from which the CD is recorded) - see the details here

The really small venue (The Camel Club) seems to just be a bar with a stage - in the video you can see many people going up to get drinks
