The first album - the eponymously titled 'Dan Reed
Network' was made with the definitive line-up. It was produced by
Bruce Fairbairn, fresh from producing Aerosmith and Bon Jovi.
The album smoothly fused rock and funk, opening with
a chant, and taking in the dance of 'Get To You', the tribal 'Ritual',
and the groove of 'Baby Don't Fade'. The lyrics ranged from love
and sex to politics and teenage suicide.
