Dan Reed, after whom the Network, take their name,
was the lead vocalist, sometimes rhythm guitar player and main songwriter
for the band.
Dan was the enigmatic, karate-kicking, good-looking
frontman with a fantastic voice.
A close observer of everything around him, Dan absorbed
everything that came his way, reflecting it in the lyrics he wrote.
Song lyrics covered love, sex, politics, friendship, war and peace.
Dan was never afraid to take chances. To prove a point
about the way the music industry works and risk commercial suicide,
Dan shaved off of all of his long hair, stating that the Network
was about the music, and not the superficiality of his hair and
good looks.
As the Network never reached the dizzy heights of
super-stardom, Dan expanded his horizons, branching into acting
and writing screenplays before returning to music.
Dan Reed is ultimately a deeply spiritual man who
would like nothing more than for everyone to get on with everyone
else. Mix It Up.
