Dan Pred has probably been the least active musically
of the members since the demise of Dan Reed Network.
Having said that, it's not that he's been inactive.
I'm not sure what Dan was up to between 1993 and 1997
other than running his multimedia production company, Videomedia.
As a thank you to the Dan Reed fans, Dan and Blake produced and
released the 'Live At Last' video and double-CD in 1997.
Musically, Dan Pred joined the Portland folk group
Beater in 1997, and I think, but not sure, that he played on their
CD 'May All Your Days Be Circus Days'. If not, he just toured with
them.
After that, Dan of course, joined Generator, with
Blake Sakamoto, and Rob Daiker. They recorded an album (Generator)
and toured the North West. Generator became Fashion Brain, releasing
an album on Eon Records.
Epic Records heard Fashion Brain and signed the group.
Fashion Brain became Slowrush, and recorded an album, Volume.
Dan and Blake both left Slowrush following payment
issues for their forthcoming tour - Epic only had a low budget for
this first time tour as the band were untested. These difficulties
led to Dan and Blake playing their last Slowrush show at the CD
release party at Ohm club, Portland, on 22 February 2000.
Dan Pred now lives in Portland and runs Videomedia,
but hasn't drummed since leaving Slowrush.
